( There were furtive figures moving around, leading a line of smaller figures, their young frames covered in dark cloaks. Bruce heard a sound of metal against metal as the line shuffled forward, and realized it was the sound of chains muffled by cloth. )

( Clark was going to do something old-fashioned and impossibly gallant like ask Bruce for the pleasure of courting his son, wasn't he? If it were anyone else, he would laugh at the thought, but of course Clark--considerate, kind, cautious Clark--would want to be sure he had Bruce's approval. )

Superman and Batman haven't interacted a whole lot recently in canon that I've spotted, short of discussing tactics here and there. But this month featured a couple of more in-depth interactions, the first of them in the Batman title.

As most of you probably know, the most recent Robin, Damian (also Bruce's son) died recently. Bruce is, of course, not dealing with it terribly well. So I was really happy to see that Clark isn't steering clear of his friend right now. The first hint we get of that is in the main story by Snyder & Capullo, with this brief exchange:

This scene pays off later in the backup by Tynion & Maleev, where Superman shows up to talk to Bruce, even though Bruce isn't very interested.

Summary: In a medieval Japan that never was, a fierce female ninja named Hana and a warrior from the stars named Hoshi fight as part of a team of powerful beings. However, when Hana receives a letter from her loyal family retainer begging her to return to the capital to investigate a mysterious serial killer, she finds herself back in the elaborate and formal court she rejected as a child. Bringing with them the silent orphan girl they have named after the first bird of spring, Hoshi and Hana must negotiate the complicated world of noble Japan, with all of its strictures on class and gender, while trying to track down a killer who strikes in the form of a laughing demon.

Well, it was the 90s, so the results were hilarious. I couldn't resist pretending the sketchbook was actually real and letting Clark get his hands on it.
